1958

Established in Kuwait. Contracts with Public Works Department, McDermott, Kuwait Oil Company.



1961

Secured contracts with Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) and Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) in Al-Ahmadi, Kuwait.



1963

Company grew to a size of 1500 employees

Set-up JVC (Archirodon) with Odon Odostro Maton and Archimedes to build Kuwait's first Sea Port, Mina Al-Shuiaba.

Set-up JVC (SAB) with renowned construction and de-mining Italian conglomerates, Societe Appalti Bonifichi and Enica to undertake the Kuwait International Airport Turnkey construction project.



1965

Set-up offices in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Shareholders included Prince Majid bin Abdul-Aziz (brother to King Fahd Bin-Abd-al-Aziz Al Sa'ud) and El-Kohami Steel Construction Company.

Projects included large-scale manufacture of polystyrene for cold stores and industrial air-conditioners and commercial buildings; Steel Construction, Pre-Fabricated Housing and Water Filtration in Riyadh, Mecca Dammam and Riyadh.

Clients included Saudi Arabian Army and Ministry Of Defence.

Secured Exclusive Distributorship Agreements in the whole of the Arabian Gulf Region for Water and Swimming Pool filtration projects with Culligan Inc., USA, Secured consultancy projects with Bechtel Corporation in Saudi Arabia.



1967

Established offices in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Projects included construction of main office buildings and computer mainframe rooms for McDermott Inc.

Secured turnkey contracts with Dubai Petroleum Company, to build its oilrigs and office complexes in UAE.



1967

Real estate development in Palm de Mallorca, Marbella and Barcelona in Spain.



1969

Expanded operations to all seven Emirates (Abu Dhabi; 'Ajman; Al Fujayrah; Sharjah; Dubai; Ra's al Khaymah and Umm al Qaywayn).

Secured distributorships for Otis Elevator, Carrier Air Conditioners, and Culligan.



1971

Established the most successful JVC, SOGEX Oman. Currently the largest construction company in the Arab World with subsidiaries set-up in United Kingdom, France, USA and Germany.

Sogex's resource base reached 19,000 Employees in 1975.

By 1985 SOGEX has 20 factories for polystyrene insulation production located in the Middle East.

by 1973 SOGEX has 30 factories of building materials.



1971

Diversification into mineral water processing and bottling plants.

Set-up Gulfa Mineral Water Company as JVC with Evian of France. Gulfa, now a Public Limited Liability Company, has an annual production capacity of 10 million cartons of bottled water.

Completed construction and industrial development of the Rashdieh Industrial Park.

Completed construction and financing of the Intercontinental Hotel in Muscat, Oman.

Completed construction of the Sheraton Hotel in Sana'a, Yemen, financed by Kuwait Fund.




1974

Established JVC with Foster Wheeler (FW) to undertake a turnkey project for the supply, installation and commissioning of aluminium smelters, powerhouses, turbines and boilers in Jebel-Ali Complexin Dubai.



1979

New market strategies in Western Europe.

Secured major shareholding in Highland Spring, Perthshire, Scotland.

Funded Gleneagles Spring Water Company, Scotland.

Portfolio of investments also included Honey farming operations in the United Kingdom.



1980

Real-estate development in the United Kingdom.



1992

Entry into Uzbekistan.



1994

Set-up OEMZ, wholly owned by Kalo Holdings Corporation.

OEMZ built three-purpose built factories for the production of aluminium extrusions, aluminium doors and windows as well as false ceilings.



1996

Established Stroyservice Company a JVC between Kalo Holdings Corporation; the Government of Uzbekistan, (Tashkentstroy), Tashjilinvestroy, the leading construction company in Uzbekistan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

Stroyservice built four-purpose built factory production facilities for bricks, roof tiles, concrete pre-fabricated blocks and polystyrene insulation and represents the largest of its kind in the country.

Set-up Diplomatic Villas & Karira, to undertake the develoment of luxury villas for resale.

Secured exclusive distributorship rights to import products from well-established and leading brands of electronics, building materials, sanitary ware and other commercial products including Sony, Samsung, Roca, York, Armstrong, Unilever, Phillip Morris and Seagram of Canada.



1997

Set-up JVP with Hamed Baki Company for Trading and Industry (Sal), a major construction company based in Lebanon;

Set-up JVP with T.S. Khayat Group, parent group of largest Publishing House in the Arab World GEOprojects UK, a consistent winner of the British Cartographic Society's highest awards.


2000

KHC starts operations in India.

In 2000 started the first online lottery.

2003 KHC invest in wind power generation.

In 2005 KHC invests in new digital film theatres that that are equipped and broadcast films directly by satellite.
